Safety Requirements

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to any questions you might have.

This will occur before the days activities start and if there are any incidents on the track you must be reinspected to ensure the bike and gear is safe to enter the track. If at any time your motorcycle or gear is deemed not safe for the track we will not let you out again and there will be no refund. Safety is the most serious part of any Sausage Fest Track Days event and we make no exceptions. With this said we will work with you to correct pieces of your equipment which is deemed unfit for track within reason. The responsibility of your gear and bike maintenance to meet the standard outlined below lies solely with you.

If your bike or equipment is deemed unsafe during our technical inspections you will not be allowed on track and there will be no refunds

Your motorcycle gear is expected to be in good condition and compliant according to the list below. Reach out on our Contact Us page or join our FB forum to ask questions ahead of time if you are still concerned after reading this.

  • Helmets must be full face, DOT certified (preferred SNELL), free of any signs of physical damage (such as cracking, dents/dings or scratches beyond minor scuffs) and less than 5 years old
  • Gloves must be gauntlet style (reaching above the wrist), free of holes or excessive damage
  • Suits must be one or two-piece (at least 50% zipper between pants/jacket for two-piece) full leather, free of holes or excessive damage (advanced group must be one-piece suits with back protectors)
  • Boots must be full height motorcycle boots which cover over the ankle and halfway up the shins (no work boots or other form of footwear), free of holes or excessive damage
  • Back protector is strongly recommended (required for advanced riders)

Your motorcycle is expected to be in good condition and prepared according to the list below. Reach out on our Contact Us page or join our FB forum to ask questions ahead of time if you are still concerned after reading this.

  • All lights and mirrors need to be taped up with masking tape. (you can see examples of this in the gallery) I would recommend disconnecting your lights fuses so the tapes glue does not melt on the light surface, and I would also recommend completely removing your mirrors
  • No leaking fluids. Oil, Antifreeze, fork or suspension fluid, Brake fluid or any other not mentioned.
  • Fork seals cannot weep or leak at all
  • Oil drain plugs, filters, and any where else will be inspected for leaking (advanced group must be safety wired)
  • Cooling including the radiator, radiator cap, overflow and all hoses are expected to be free from antifreeze and filled to spec on a liquid cooled bike.
  • Cooling reservoir has to be an approved container for holding coolant (no drink bottles or other rigged containers)
  • Suspension must not be bound up and have a full range of travel appropriate for the motorcycle
  • Chain must be properly adjusted according to your bikes spec
  • Chain must not be bound up or excessively rusty which will inhibit normal operation
  • Sprockets must be in good order and not worn or worse yet no missing teeth
  • TIRES must have a minimum of 50% live at the lowest point on the tire at the start of the track day. PLAN AHEAD FOR THIS as we will not guarantee that there will be a tire rep on site.
  • Handlebar controls and foot controls must operate and return to starting position freely, quickly and not bind up in any way.
  • Brakes must be at least 2mm thickness on the pads and rotors are not worn.
  • Brake lines and components cannot leak or bulge in any way
  • No extension blocks or extended swingarms
  • No aftermarket adjustable lowering links
